Alpinestars' expertise in the development of the cutting-edge technology used in the Supertech M8 stems from over half a decade of world-class innovation across the spectrum of motorsports, particularly in the realm of motocross. Just as with all other categories of technology that Alpinestars has mastered, the introduction of this new, highly complex product to the market requires specialized experience, know-how, and a project plan led by the best minds in protection development.

To this end, Alpinestars established the Helmet Development Department, tasked with the research and development of the most protective and comfortable motocross helmet possible. The goal was to empower riders to push the limits of their performance, benefiting from confidence-inspiring safety technology, reduced weight distribution to minimize muscular effort in the neck, shoulders, and back, and improved physiological and cognitive performance through a supremely well-fitting and well-ventilated construction, optimizing comfort while riding.

The S-M8 shell has been designed with performance as a priority, featuring a unique profile and sculpted surface that distinctly identifies it as an Alpinestars product. The shell construction utilizes a highly advanced molding technology with a multi-composite combination: uni-directional carbon composite with an aramid layer, which provides significant radial strength around the shell, preventing compression but allowing controlled deflection to reduce transmitted impact energy, and offering critical penetration protection.

The Supertech M8 incorporates MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) to reduce the rotational motion energies that can cause damaging gyration forces to be transmitted to the brain upon impact. Additionally, the helmet features a patented system that allows for precise tuning of the height and angle at which it sits on the rider's head, enabling an ultra-specific set-up that can be adapted to the type of riding and the rider's personal preference.

Extensive heat mapping tests have resulted in the development of specifically designed ducting, which produces a positive airflow into the helmet, over and around the rider's head, improving comfort while riding and reducing the onset of heat stress in extreme conditions.

The Supertech M8 helmet versions conform to both DOT (Department of Transportation) certification and ECE (Economic Commission for Europe) homologation, ensuring their suitability for use worldwide.
