The Alpinestars Supertech family of helmets was designed with the goal of creating the most advanced, protective, and performance-enhancing helmets possible for riders worldwide. The Helmet Development team at Alpinestars engineered the S-M10 model to offer the perfect blend of excellent ventilation and unsurpassed comfort, while maintaining the lightest weight possible without compromising on any other front.

The S-M10's design features a smooth, attractive, and aerodynamic profile that is streamlined and free of any external channels or features that might act as a load point in an impact or compromise the overall integrity of the helmet's construction. The surface curvature promotes reduced friction on impact, allowing for deflection and the most efficient transfer of energy to protect the rider's head from direct force to the skull and referred to the neck and spinal column.

The helmet's shell construction utilizes a highly advanced molding technology with a multi-composite combination. The 3K Carbon outer layer improves the strength and efficiency of energy dissipation over the shell, while the Uni-directional carbon composite layer provides significantly greater radial strength around the shell, preventing compression but allowing controlled deflection to reduce transmitted impact energy. The Aramid fiber layer provides critical protection.

The S-M10 is an ultra-ventilated helmet, featuring 28 individual intake and exhaust ports, not including the eye port, with 18 intakes and 10 exhausts. This extensive ventilation system ensures optimal airflow and cooling for the rider's head.

In terms of weight, the S-M10 weighs 1260g for the ECE version and 1360g for the DOT version in a size medium. With the side pads, the weight increases to 1310g, and with the visor extension, it reaches 1370g.

The helmet's protection features include removable side pads made from a semi-soft polymer, which provide a larger contact area to help spread impact energy. Additionally, the S-M10 is equipped with the Multi-directional Impact Protection System (MIPS), meeting the FMVSS 218 Standard and being ECE/DOT approved.
